"No government in Canada has been elected with a mandate to end welfare.” Thousands in British Columbia, including many women and children will lose their welfare benefits on April 1, 2004 when the Liberal government implements it's new 2 year time limit. People are mobilizing across the province to fightback. Vancouver Rape Relief and Women's Shelter sponsored this Public Forum on Seeking an End to Women's Poverty on January 16, 2004, at the Wise Hall in Vancouver. |
